About A Special Hope
Stories are powerful. We find ourselves in the stories of others. We find strength we didn’t know we had until we hear someone else do something we know we need to do, but are afraid. Because if they did it… maybe we can too. Stories have the ability to gird the weak, comfort the hurting, bring laughter into the shadows, motivate to action, enable understanding, garner empathy, and grant us desperately needed hope to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
What It’s All About
Stories are about relationships. We want to encourage building relationships – genuine, authentic relationships that will enable you to truly thrive. This podcast seeks to encourage both families and ministry leaders to build better relationships with each other. For families to live in better relationship with their family member with disabilities. For churches to live in better relationship with the families who darken the doors seeking comfort and understanding.
Who It’s For
For families living with special needs, you will find hope and encouragement for every day life.
For ministry leaders, volunteers, educational and therapeutic staff, dive into the world of those you serve to know their pains, where to meet them, and how to meet them. Hear from other leaders who work hard to engage and meet needs. You’ll find resources and encouragement to help you do what you do better.
Why We Do It
A Special Hope seeks to find all these stories, and bind together the people who both tell and listen to them. There is hope in the vulnerability of sharing your story. And there is hope in listening to it. The ultimate hope we seek to proclaim is Jesus Christ, who came to save and restore a broken world. We’ll talk about brokenness. Hurt. Shame. Guilt. Hard. Beautiful. Joy. Incredible. And through every story told, we’ll trace this thread of hope in Christ that one day all things will be made new. (Revelation 21:5)
Meet The Host
Sarah Broady
I love meeting new people and learning about their stories. I enjoy good conversation and building relationships with people. I absolutely love to encourage others in their journeys with special needs, or just the Christian life. I desire to give others the same special hope I have in Christ that is freely given to all who believe. A Special Hope Podcast combines all these things into one, and I’m so excited to bring hope and encouragement into the lives of my listeners.
