The Perfect Day

I wrote this post weeks ago, but could not get pictures loaded! Finally found a way to do it. 🙂 Have you ever had a perfect day, maybe even just a perfect moment that you purpose to remember during all the other days and moments that aren't so perfect? I have a few...

A Prayer from Psalm 90

"O satisfy us in the morning with Thy loving-kindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days"                                                                     Psalm 90:14 Today, my son still has autism. Every day for the rest of his life, he will have...

So This is Christmas

The words of the song I heard countless times on the radio continued to echo in my ears yesterday, Christmas day. They sounded empty, hollow and filled with tearful sighs that only autism can bring. This day, this day of a year-long anticipation, this day of glorious...

The Redeeming Value of a Sermon

Every day of the week has the potential to be a challenging day in the face of autism, but Sundays in particular are the most susceptible to difficulty. Even though it can be a busy day, there is routine every week; and with autism, where there is routine, there is...

Much Ado About Nothing!

I'm in a bit of an unusual slump, but I think this is a good thing. Normally, blog posts come about because of negative aspects of our life with autism. Meltdowns, insurance problems and emotional chaos are usually motivators for writing. Lately though, I haven't had...

With Baited Breath

For the last two weeks, our family has been away from home in Indiana spending time with my husband's family. Kyle had a youth camp, M-Fuge, to attend just a few hours away, so we went up to his family's house a week before camp, and while he was at camp, I stayed...

M.O.B. SOCIETY BLOG HOP

Playground Fun

Just wanted to share some pics from our playdate today. I met a girlfriend who has three girls that are close in age to my three boys. Both of our middle kiddos have autism. I showed Sam "L"'s picture from my friend's Facebook page and told him that L has autism, just...

Discover GOALLY

Goally is an incredible time, task, and behavioral management aide designed specifically for individuals with autism under the control of a parent with the parent app. Kids manage their own tasks and routines (set up within the parent app,) building independence, creating good habits, and it enables parents and therapists alike to track behavior, both "desireable" and "undesireable", and allow kids/Goally users to redeem points for rewards. There is even a FB support group for parents with access to help as needed. Some insurance waivers will even cover the cost of Goally as an assistive device.
